Terms of service
This morning I deleted a comment which contained language that is inappropriate for this community Web site. I apologize for not spotting it and removing it earlier. My staff and I don't have time to constantly monitor the blogs and comments posted on MyStJohnsSun.com. Because of that, I'll ask that anyone who sees content posted here that appears to violate the terms of service notify us immediately. We also don't have time to edit posts. I have done so in the past, when a long comment contained only one or two words that were inappropriate, but from this point forward i will likely simply delete the entire comment. The comment I deleted this morning contained some passionate arguments about issues that affect our entire community. I'm sorry that the writer chose to pepper it with foul language. It seems a shame for someone to have taken the time to express his or her thoughts only to have those thoughts vanish from the page. Please keep that in mind as you all write comments in the future. Mark,
I belong to a few boards around town and all of my fellow members assist in monitoring those boards. We know who the moderators/editors are and we immediately message them if something is inappropriate. Many times it's just spammers, but if a fellow member goes on a tyraid and posts unacceptable profanity, (we do tolerate soft profanity), the post is edited or deleted and the member warned.
Any board/site that is open to the public is vulnerable to abuse of all kinds. The members need to police their own boards and know who to notify if needed. |
