divorce recovery
Meeting tonight from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m. at Anastasia Baptist Church, 1650 A1A South, St. Augustine in the annex. Divorce recovery meets weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. Each Divorce Care session has two distinct elements: (1) a seminar with experts, and (2) a support group with focus. couple’s conference
April 26, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Couples Conference 2008 will feature some of the nation’s leading experts on marriage including: Gary Smalley, Kim and Erwin McManus, Les Parrot and Henry Cloud. Couples will learn practical tips on making their marriage better than they have ever imagined. mother’s day fashion show
May 10, 1 p.m. Come join the fun and see the latest in spring and summer fashions as River of Life United Methodist Church presents its inaugural “Mother’s Day Fashion Show” at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek, 25 State Road 13 in Fruit Cove. Fashion for models provided by Bealls, make up provided by Mary Kaye and Jewelry by Silpada. Admission is free! While admission is free, the Church, is accepting donations to benefit the United Methodist’s Children’s Home in Orlando and the building fund for the church’s new sanctuary. The Church is also accepting donations from local vendors and merchants to be used as door prizes. golf tournament
May 24, noon, at the St. Johns County golf course on Route 207, the Faith Community Church hosts its First Annual Golf Tournament. The event will benefit the 2008 Building Fund Campaign. $75 per player there will be giveaways, prizes, contests and barbecue dinner provided. For more information contact Wayne at (904) 287-3223.

host families
EF Educational Homestay Program is a non-profit organization that works with students from other countries who want to learn English as a second language is looking for families to volunteer to host students for three weeks this summer. Host families are asked to provide a bed, an extra plate at the table and transportation to and from a central pick up location. The program keeps the students busy during the week days with group activities. Youth from host families are invited to accompany the students on field trips and earn 60 community service hours. yesha (tae kwon do) instruction
Classes are available for all ages and skill level. The classes meet twice a week Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. and are held in the Gym. There is no cost for the classes. meditation group
Monday evenings, 7 p.m. at the Unity Church for Creative Living, 2777 Race Track Road, St. Johns, everyone is welcome to join the deepening experience of the power of group Meditation. Meditation takes practice, discipline, and resolve. The group begins with some stretching and movement to help relax, using music and devotional chants for healing. They are studying and experiencing the progressive techniques of meditation found in the book Techniques of Meditation to Enhance Mind Power. For additional information call Rev. mimi’s yoga
Karen Roumillat, registered yoga teacher, announces yoga classes are offered twice a week on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. Sessions are held in the Fellowship Hall of Geneva Presbyterian Church, 1755 State Road 13, Switzerland. The cost is $10 per session. Yoga can be practiced by all ages and abilities. It is an effective way to reduce stress, relieve back pain, increase flexibility, improve posture and enhance your breathing ability.
